I am dedicated to education development because of its transformative power and the profound impact it can have on individuals, families, and communities alike.

Bulelani’s journey in education development, with a particular focus on ECD, is one characterized by passion, dedication, and a deep commitment to fostering positive change in South Africa’s educational landscape. Having served with distinction in prominent NGOs such as PRAESA and Nal’ibali, Bulelani has consistently advocated for the importance of quality education, especially during the crucial foundation phase of children’s learning.

Joyce Mantyi

Joyce Mantyi

Team Leader & Field worker: middle group

I love working with young children and love to see them developed from a very young stage and have confidence in themselves. By working with ECD teachers and community we strive to fight poverty and create a safe and healthy environment for our leaders of tomorrow.

Joyce qualified through the False Bay TVET College with a Diploma in Early Childhood Development in 2017. While studying she volunteered at an ECD in Mfuleni and later worked full time for that ECD for 4 years. She joined Starting Chance in February 2018.

Noms Dingiso

Noms Dingiso

Field worker: Grade R's & Classroom Specialist

My vision is to see children living a fearless life and I want to help and train teachers to create a safe and healthy environment for children in the townships.

Noms qualified at the College of Cape Town with an Educare Diploma in 2008 after having studied and successfully completed a number of courses over the years from 1996 onwards. She is fluent in 4 languages. Between 1995 and 2012 she was an assistant teacher at an integrated ECD school. Since then she has worked for Starting Chance and is in the process of realising her vision.

Lebo Mabi

Lebo Mabi

Field worker: toddlers & EdTech

I am very passionate about developing a child. I am also passionate about community development.
I am delighted to be part of Starting Chance and I believe together we will create ideas that will develop Mfuleni to the next level.

Lebo has a  Higher Certificate in Early Childhood Development. She has 9 years of working experience as an Early Childhood Development Principal. she has been with Starting Chance since 2020.

Tandeka Tomsana

Tandeka Tomsana

Field worker: babies & Parents Programme

I am grateful to be with Starting Chance as a fieldworker, supporting the baby classes and ensuring the growth of the children. I am also excited to organise workshops for parents and to help parents support their children at home.

Tandeka has a Diploma in ECD from Northlink College which she completed in 2020. She worked as a Grade R Practitioner and Principal at Blooming Stars Educare in Mfuleni before joining Starting Chance in 2023.
