Our School Rep Team

At Starting Chance, we believe in empowering and upskilling school staff to build a best-practice early childhood community. Each year, schools nominate practitioners to serve as their representatives. These women form an extension of the Starting Chance team within their schools.

School Reps play a vital role by:
Assisting the Starting Chance field team during monthly Training of Teachers in Townships (TTinT) sessions.
Mobilising parents to participate in the Parent Support Programme, including quarterly workshops, resource workshops, and Mandela Day events.
Coordinating decentralized parent workshops led by their own schools, with support from Starting Chance.

Through this programme, School Reps gain valuable skills in parent engagement, facilitation, and fundraising, which they can put into practice in their own schools. They are not only leaders in their communities but also an integral part of the Starting Chance family.
